I am a child of God, I am 52 years old, married and have two children who are married and I have two grandchildren. I am fairly new to White House, Tennessee. As for my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love most sports but I especially love football and golf, whether it be on TV or in person. I also love traveling (road trips to see my grandbabies are my favorite), the outdoors, playing golf, and fishing.
How did fitness become my passion?
As for my background, I struggled with my weight throughout my teens and early adulthood. I tried every gadget and gimmick you can think of and, though I realized some results, they were not substantial and mostly temporary. I finally realized it takes three major components to live a healthy and fit lifestyle - strength training, cardio training, and optimal nutrition. Omitting any of these components substantially decreases your chances of prolonged success.
In 2014 at the age of 42, I had a health scare when I was diagnosed with ADH (Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia). In the words of my doctor, ADH meant I didn't have breast cancer "yet," but, if I chose to do nothing about ADH, it would definitely turn into breast cancer at some point. Therefore, I elected to undergo a prophylactic double mastectomy. This surgery decreased my chances of getting diagnosed with breast cancer to 2% or less.
After undergoing this surgery, not only can I empathize with the recovery process, I am able to train and guide others who are recovering from this surgery with what exercises will help to regain your muscle strength and range of motion.
I have successfully trained clients of all ages, genders, and fitness levels. I provide one-on-one fitness training, fitness group training, golf performance training and nutritional coaching.
